NBC Historical Battle Library: http://napbc.freeforums.org/nbc-historical-battle-library-t2812.html
NBC have been developing and testing a range of NTW Historical Battles for those interested in historical style gaming. We now have the first four finished and are happy to make them available to those who would like to try them.
Each battle can be downloaded from the NBC site in the Historical Section Library. Each one contains an overview of the battle, detailed Orders of Battle, Quick OB’s, game notes and a map.
Although much of the content will be of interest to those keen on Napoleonic history we recommend reading through everything before you play. All that’s needed is to study the game notes and deployment set up, take note of any delayed arrivals, make sure the hoster sets money to maximum, decide who gets what command then just enter the units under each command and play the game. Each download has a quick OB which can be cut and pasted when entering your units.
We try to play them as historically as possible. Spend some time before starting putting together a plan, play them more like a chess game and don’t just rush headlong into things. We have our own rules to make things more accurate. Lines can’t just form square for instancem they have to go into column formation first. This gets over the far too fast square formation in NTW. If you are moving do it in column, that’s how it was done and it’s quicker to form square if you are threatened by cavalry. We don’t ‘ run’ units. Only skirmish troops are allowed to run. Whatever, feel free to play them as you like but we have found they are very different to the normal NTW games and far more interesting and enjoyable.
If you have any problems or questions you can contact us through the NBC Historical forum.
Regards and enjoy them,
The Napoleonic Battle Corps
