Malacarne and me have tried to cover the right flank as much as possible to allow enought time to first column reinforcement of Weidenfeld to come in.
Having to face a damned good Ziuk who routed 3/4 batteries with fast charges in the opening moves, we had to resist on the hills without little artillery support which proved too much for the weak austrian musket accuracy.

But I really enjoyed the resistance at la Piopa where the deadly cannister of my two batteries managed to repell twice the french attacks. The well coordinated last attack proved too much for our tired and weakened troops. Same faith for Solferino defender.
My favourite plan would be to defend C.na Morino on the left conceding La Piopa to french, but I have still to find an ally that accept my dangerous plan (though historically correct) because austrian expose himself to frech direct advance of Fiorella's reinforcements.

I was kept updated in real-time about this by him on voice chat. That was our main exchange of news (except Ziuk asking me ten times not to attack) Rolling Eyes

I was the la Piopa attacker... It was a tough fight to get this damn building. I had a mass rout in my second attempt, but they rallied quite fast and I didn't lose too many men. I finally managed to seize it because one side of the building (east) wasn't defended, so I could prepare my cavalry + infantry assault easily. Also, you moved your artillery near la Piopa too late. One minute earlier and my plan would have been thwarted.

I can be your man, I like dramatic plans.
The main danger is not to expose Fiorella reinforcements, but the LOC itself, which is very close from la Piopa. That would require to hold other VPs all over the map to prevent an assault on the LOC.

As I set VPs in last version (and since we play with the rule by which you need at least the majority of Vps to attack LOC, in this case 4) the french could not attack LOC if austrians own C.na Morino and the Castle+Farm of Solferino (3 Vps since Castle is 2 vps).
This is of course dangerous because austrians have an extended line, but they can effectively use their powerfull artillery, especially 12lber which are often if not always lost in the retreat.
