The battle started with a great trick from Miko: rushing Quatre-Bras from our empty left flank. It worked and caused a turmoil between Brune (center/left) and me (right). It took us half an hour and about 400 men killed to get it back.
After 30 minutes Brune lost all the German Landwehr on our left flank, in a rarely-seen slaughter by cav. Just after that we've lost our very last VP... Our fate was getting darker and darker...
Then the Foot Guards gave us back Quatre-Bras, and we've decided to push hard where we were previously defeated: our left flank, for a matter of pride. The French were pushed back swiftly and 10 minutes from the end we had 5 of 7 VPs. Just before the end the French grabbed a neglected VP in the woods, and the final score was 4-3 for UK. Though I think that five more minutes and the French would have been eradicated from the battlefield.
Nevertheless we're aware this battle is easier to play on the UK side, even if we were 2 versus 3. But, to be honest, we were grumpy (because of the early loss of QB) and therefore played ugly.
